1. Show me a portrait of someone holding a pen (remember proper lighting).
2. Take a portrait of two people in the stairwell with the block glass as the background.
3. I want to see a group portrait of the entire class (minus the photographer) outside with the swing set in the photo.

Wednesday Assignment
Wednesday (11/12/08) Class assignment -
Today you're going to go on a scavenger hunt with your cameras.
1. Show me something that has to do with the dance department.
2. Show me a portrait of 3 people in front of the wall (graffiti) right outside of the lunch room.
3. Take a portrait of Lucy Smith in her office.
4. Show me the LCD screen on your cameras showing a photo showing the plants in the garden (back entrance).
Have fun, be quiet and be nice!!!

Self Portrait Assignment Results
Between critiquing the self portrait assignment and learning about portrait lighting, we've had a busy week. Everyone's self portrait work was great. I asked for out of the box and I got out of the box.
This weekend's assignment is -
Show me your family. The only rules are 1. I want to see Color and 2. Use ISO 400.
This week we'll critique the family assignment and learn more rules.

Week of August 18 -22 Assignments
Well, week one is in the books. Here's your assignments for next week (Aug 18-22) -
Use your camera in full auto settings. All photos must be made during class time.
Monday - Show me a self portrait. You must incorporate the swing set in the quad. You can be on the swing, around the swing, by the swing, but you have to take the self portrait in portrait mode (remember Wednesday lesson).
Tuesday - Show me another self portrait. Incorporate someone in the Administrative Office, in portrait mode. Please don't annoy anyone or get into trouble.
Wednesday - Show me another self portrait. The portrait needs to be taken in a hallway with lockers, in portrait mode. Remember that there are other classes, be nice.
Thursday - Show me another self portrait. Back out to the quad. Incorporate the red statue, in portrait mode. No climbing, please.
Friday - Stay in our room and compare your adventures.
*** Very Important *** Each day you must report to our room so the sub can take roll before you complete your assignment. If you don't come to the room first, you will be marked absent.
Please take six (6) photos of each assignment. Next monday (August 25th), I'll download all your photos on to my computer for class critique.
Remember to have fun with these assignments but to respect others in the process.
